Sonic Circus is 2 years old!  It’s hard to believe how far the band has come in so little time!   Here’s to the Future!

To everyone who attended my Surprise Birthday Party held at Pierce Park, THANK YOU SO MUCH! There aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am!  It was wonderful watching all the musicians get up on stage and play.  To all my family and friends, I say Thank you!

Special thanks to Gary Bomber for all your hard work and of course my wife Patty for making this a special day!

Thank you Steve Juno and the crew at the Checkered Flag!  FireHouse absolutely rocked!  There was a little mix up at the end of our show due to conflicting information between their promoter and stage manager/guitar tech but I have to say this…  what a hard working band!  Firehouse was at the Checkered Flag almost all afternoon doing sound checks to make sure they put on the best damn show for their fans and I really respect that.  At the end of the show the band did a meet and greet for anyone and everyone who wanted to meet them, now how cool is that?  Thanks again to Firehouse, Steve Juno and his crew, and all the fans!!

Thank you to Hops Haven Brew Haus for the good time and the great beer!!!  We hope to get back to the Brew House soon.  And a very special thank you goes out to Jay Bird, Diana, and everybody at the Caged Again Club in Algoma.  Pictures will be on our web sometime this week.

Hey circus freaks and friends: (you too Gary Bomber)

This is Dennis the singer of the band and I've gotten something' to say to you...Here's the first edition of the Sonic Circular!

I wanted to give a shout out to all the people we've had the pleasure of meeting since the band has gotten it's start in July of '02. It's been a great time for us as a band and for me personally.

There's so much to say and I tend to ramble so here goes...

First off, I want to invite everyone to my birthday party March 13th at the Extreme. If you can't make it to that date, show up on March 6th at Slugger's, both places are in Appleton. I promise to come out of my shell and maybe even put a show on for y'all those two nights. March 6th is Scott's first anniversary bash at Slugger's so...let's have some fun and I'll drive you home if I have to. Just don't make me have to stop the car...

I know that Bill and his lovely staff at the Extreme is ready to pour mixed drinks to taste and don't forget the body shots people!!!

Also, Sonic Circus, The Checkered Flag, and WAPL Radio are pleased to announce that we will be playing with international recording artists FIREHOUSE on Saturday, April 10th at the Checkered Flag in Appleton.

Firehouse has long been one of my favorite bands for years, and having met the guys and spent some time with them, I'm glad to have had the chance to know them. They are tremendous people. C.J. as a person is someone who can make your life better just by being around him. You won't find a bunch of nicer guys...and if you've ever had the chance to know the guys in the Circus, you'll find that they're all great guys as well. I'm proud to play with my friends in this band and know these guys will be lifelong buds.

I know that when we played with Great White at the Flag in October, we received a tremendous outpouring of support and were able to make a whole bunch of new friends. Jack, I'll never forget your hospitality and graciousness by allowing me to sing "Save Your Love" with you. For those of you who didn't know, Jack had to have surgery two days later for a herniated throat muscle. The band also played a show in Minnesota the next day and he was in a lot of pain, so please remember that he tried real hard to put on a good show for you despite his trouble. The guys in the band were very nice to us and we became fast friends. It is our sincere goal to play with them in the near future and as much as possible. We in Sonic Circus also want to continue to bring awareness and support to the Station Relief Fund, a charity started to raise money for the families of the victims who died tragically in Rhode Island a year ago. We will have a little fish bowl available at our shows for donations if you'd be so generous to help support a cause that has touched our hearts. The guys from Great White also had everybody in the Circus come up and jam "Once Bitten Twice Shy" to end the night. Please take the time to support Great White as they tour in Wisconsin quite frequently. Tell them you saw them and us at the Flag and want to make that happen again. Also, to Jack thank you for saying the nice things you did about me as a singer. It means more than you may ever know.

There has been a large clamoring of support for the band to release our own material. Thank you so much for your interest and belief in us. I promise each and every one of you that we are diligent about this endeavor. Our goal is to produce music that matches the energy we put into our shows. It's not an easy process. The first thing we needed to do as a band was infuse new songs for our show because it's been a while. We don't want to bore you as well as be bored so we installed 14 songs to our playlist and are playing around 10 or so I think. We'll continue to add more as we go. Everybody in this band is an accomplished songwriter, so it'll be real interesting when we put our focus onto our own songs. I can't wait because they will be fun-filled songs no doubt, and there will be real musical talent involved as well. We've been noodling at down moments in rehearsals with samples of our songs, and you can feel the excitement. We're chomping at the bit don't be surprised if we pull out one or two of our own songs in time for the Firehouse show. (crossing fingers)

This might sound a little goofy, considering it's been some time now since the two new members of our band have joined us, but have you introduced yourself to them? Scott Schroeder joined us in March of '03 and has been a solid American from the word go. Steve Schreiber joined us in August of last year and is good people too. Without either of these two guys, this band may not have carried on as it has to this point. Many sincere thanks to those guys. Dan Comperini (bass/meat/vocals), Johnny Palecek (keyboards/three-sided dollar bill/vocals) and I are blessed to play with such great guys.

When this band first began playing in July '02 we had Scott Scheurell on drums and Craig Hawkinson on guitar as founding members. This band is every bit as much theirs as it is anyone's. It is through their hard work and dedication to be part of a band that's dares to be different that has made the Circus what it is today. Say hello to them if you have the chance. I know you can find the clown genius, Craig playing and flailing guitar with FineLine.

Also, please communicate with us at our website www.soniccircus.net. Let us know what's going on with you, leave your comments and suggestions, and maybe start rumors or something. It'll be great. We're always looking for ideas, song suggestions, and general hijinx.

There's much more, but you're probably sleeping by now. It's now time to end the rambling and let you carry on with your existence. Thank you again for your support and friendship and bring a few friends with you the next time the Circus comes to town.

To be continued...
